Position description
The Department of Geography and Environment at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison University is a dynamic, undergraduate-focused department supporting degrees in Geography (BA), Environmental Studies (BA), and Environmental Science (BSc). It also plays a significant role in the University’s Aviation Program, which includes BSc and BA options, as well as programs in GIS and Geo-computing. Our location in the fast-growing, Moncton-Southeast New Brunswick region presents abundant local opportunities for rural, urban and marine/coastal-focused research and experiential learning.
The Department invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position (hired at Lecturer or Assistant rank) in Human Geography/Planning. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Geography, Planning or a complementary discipline, although candidates very near completion of their doctoral degrees will be considered. The successful candidate will contribute to both BA and BSc elements of the Department, including Aviation. The candidate will be specifically required to teach courses in Human Geography, Transportation Geography and Urban/Regional Planning. Expertise in quantitative and spatial methods is an asset. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2025 and is subject to budgetary approval.
