Accept your offer of admission and scholarships
Deadline to accept your offer of admission: May 1
To accept your offer of admission and scholarships, pay your registration deposit:
- Canadian students: $100 for Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada

International students: You will receive an email with additional instructions on how to pay your registration deposit
Accept your offer by paying your registration deposit
Once your deposit is received and processed, your deposit confirmation will be e-mailed to your @mta.ca e-mail.
Why pay my registration deposit early?
By paying your registration deposit, you:
- confirm your offer of admission and any financial aid you have been offered
- claim a place in the priority queue for a residence room assignment
- gain access to course registration once it opens
Apply for bursaries
Deadline to apply for bursaries: March 1
All incoming full-time students who have demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply for a ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison bursary.
Submit your entrance bursary application through . You'll get access to the secure network once you're admitted to the University.
Apply to live in residence
Deadline to guarantee a room in residence: March 1
Before you can apply to residence, you must have activated your @mta.ca email account with your MtA username and password.

Pay your residence deposit
To receive your room assignment:
- pay your residence deposit
- to guarantee your residence accommodations, pay the deposit by March 1
Don't forget to also accept your offer of admission by paying your registration deposit. We base your residence room assignment priority on the day you pay your registration deposit so the earlier you pay this deposit the closer you are to the top of the list for a room assignment.
How to be guaranteed a residence room
To guarantee a room in residence, submit the following by March 1:
- Accept your offer of admission to the University by paying your registration deposit
- Pay your residence deposit
All residence applications submitted after March 1 will be assigned on a rolling basis.

Submit your mid-year transcript
For students who applied with their Grade 11 transcripts
If you've been offered early admission to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison with your Grade 11 transcripts, in your application account by March 1:
- to confirm your offer of admission
- to keep any scholarship offers made during early admission
These transcripts don't have to be official.
Apply for a study permit
For international students
Students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada need a valid study permit to attend ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison.
Before you apply for a study permit, you need:
- An unconditional offer of admission to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison
- A Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)
- A Letter of Acceptance (LOA)
Please also check to see if you need any extra travel authorization documents before you arrive.
You should apply as soon as possible as the process can take some time.
How to receive your PAL and LOA
In order to receive your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) and Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for your study permit application, you must:
- receive an unconditional offer of admission
- receive an invitation email from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison outlining further steps to accept your offer of admission and complete the PAL process.
Please note: your offer of admission to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison does not guarantee study permit approval.

ABOUT PROVINCIAL ATTESTATION LETTERS (PAL)
International students need to provide an attestation letter from the province or territory where they plan to study before they apply for a study permit.
Do not attempt to submit an application for a study permit until you receive your attestation letter.
Please check if you require a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) for your study permit application. If you have further questions, please email international@mta.ca.

What to do if your study permit is delayed or refused?
If you are unable to begin your studies due to a study permit delay or refusal, you may request to defer your offer of admission to a future term, up to a maximum of 1 (one) year.
If your application is refused and you decide to withdraw your admission to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison, you may be eligible to receive a partial refund of your registration deposit of $1,500 if verifiable evidence of a study permit refusal is provided. Please email international@mta.ca in order to make a refund request. Refund requests received after the first day of classes will not be approved. The final day to arrive for each semester is listed on your LOA. If you are unsure how to proceed, email international@mta.ca to discuss your options.
Transfer credits
You may be awarded transfer credits towards your ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison degree if:
- you've completed a university-preparatory program such as IB, AP, or British A-levels
- you've completed courses at another university or college
Register for courses
Course registration for the 2025-26 academic year opens in June 2025
You'll receive course registration information before registration opens for new students.

Submit your final transcript
When your final grades are in, your official final transcript needs to be sent to us directly from your high school.

Your official journey to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison will begin with Orientation Week for new students.
For Orientation, you'll receive information directly from the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Allison Students' Union (MASU) on the schedule of events and what to expect.
Save the dates:
- Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 — Move-in day for students living in residence and University Orientation begins for all new students
- Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025 — Fall term classes begin
