SACKVILLE, NB 鈥 A new initiative dedicated to supporting and connecting university teaching fellows internationally is being launched this fall, with a 蜜桃视频 Allison Music professor at the forefront.
Dr. Elizabeth Wells, who also serves as the University鈥檚 of Arts, is the co-president and founder of the International Federation of National Teaching Fellows (IFNTF), bringing together teaching fellows from across the globe to share ideas and resources related to teaching and learning in post-secondary education.
Wells and her IFNTF co-founder Dr. Kirsten Hardie (Arts University, Bournemouth, UK) will officially launch this new international organization on September 8 at the British House of Lords in London, hosted by Baroness Rennie Fritchie, DBE.
鈥淭his launch event will bring together recognized teaching fellows, students, politicians and university leaders from Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, among others,鈥 says Wells. 鈥淭his meeting will establish the foundations for what we believe will become a unique and exciting avenue through which the world鈥檚 most creative and ambitious teachers will work together, develop projects, and further teaching and learning in higher education globally.鈥
Hardie agrees. 鈥淭he goal of the federation is to mobilize and connect the best minds in teaching around the world, which is a very powerful prospect.鈥
The IFNTF will seek to inform and contribute to learning and teaching developments and will serve students, colleagues, and related organizations across the higher education sector internationally. Following the launch, organized by Professor Carol Evans (UK vice president) the Federation members will work towards strengthening its infrastructure to offer teaching resources globally and expanding its reach to engage teachers and students from more corners of the globe.
