Celebrating International Women’s Day

05 Mar 2024

Friday, March 8 is International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

“On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the resilience, strength, and achievements of women at Ƶ Allison and globally,” says Dr. Robert MacKinnon, Interim President and Vice Chancellor. "Much of Ƶ Allison’s success is owed to strong women in academia and we are proud to celebrate them today and every day!”

This year’s theme, Inspire Inclusion, encourages others to understand and value women’s inclusion, fostering a more inclusive world. When women themselves are inspired to be included, there is a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

There are events and activities organized to celebrate International Women’s Day by groups and departments on campus, we welcome you to participate and contribute to support, uplift and empower women.
