Ƶ Allison welcomes Bert Annear as new Registrar

SACKVILLE, NB — Ƶ Allison University welcomes Bert Annear as its new Registrar beginning May 24, 2024. 

Originally from Victoria, BC, Annear joins us from the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus, where he previously held the position of Deputy Registrar. He brings 25 years of experience in administration within post-secondary institutions.  

"Bert's extensive background and experience in both Canadian and international post-secondary education makes him a perfect fit for Ƶ Allison,” says Vicki St. Pierre, interim provost and vice-president, academic and research. "As the new Registrar, Bert will play a vital role in shaping our students' academic journey from advising to Convocation. We are thrilled to welcome Bert to the Ƶ Allison University community as our new Registrar." 

Annear holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Victoria and is currently completing a Master of Education at the University of Northern British Columbia. He has held leadership roles in various positions within Registrar’s Office functions including admissions, recruitment, academic advising, and Convocation ceremonies to name a few.  

Annear places a strong focus on supporting and mentoring staff for their professional growth. He is a strategic thinker who approaches each project with creativity while upholding integrity, excellence, and accountability as his fundamental principles. 

In his spare time, Annear enjoys spending time with family, playing music, gardening, skating, and cycling. He also enjoys playing basketball and chess with his son. 

The Registrar is an integral part of the academic experience for Ƶ Allison students throughout their academic journey, from application until after graduation. Working closely with Ƶ, the Registrar provides vision and leadership to the Registrar’s Office, ensuring a high standard of excellence in the delivery of registrarial services to all stakeholders.
